# Print Ready Check > A private, browser-based utility that checks image print resolution and PDF page sizes without uploading your files. Free, no account, and files never leave the browser. Key facts: - Print size in inches = pixel dimension ÷ PPI. 300 PPI is the usual target for close-viewed photo prints; 150–200 PPI is often acceptable for posters viewed from a distance. - An embedded DPI tag is only a label. Changing it does not add pixels or detail. - A 3000 × 4000-pixel image can print at 10 × 13.33 inches at 300 PPI. Divide each pixel dimension by 300 to calculate the print dimensions. - A4 is approximately 2480 × 3508 pixels at 300 PPI. - US Letter is 2550 × 3300 pixels at 300 PPI. - Real PDF bleed requires artwork extending past the TrimBox, not just an empty margin. ## Tools - [Image print checker](https://printfilecheck.com/image-dpi-checker): Check pixel dimensions, embedded DPI, and how large an image can print. - [DPI metadata converter](https://printfilecheck.com/300-dpi-converter): Set JPEG, PNG, or WebP resolution metadata locally without claiming extra detail. - [Pixels to print size](https://printfilecheck.com/pixels-to-print-size): Convert pixel dimensions into inches and centimetres at a chosen PPI. - [Maximum print size](https://printfilecheck.com/maximum-print-size): See the largest print size at 150, 200, 240, and 300 PPI. - [PDF page-size checker](https://printfilecheck.com/pdf-page-size-checker): Read every page’s dimensions, boxes, and named paper size in your browser. - [PDF print-readiness report](https://printfilecheck.com/print-ready-pdf-checker): An honest Pass / Warning / Problem / Unknown report for print files. - [PDF page normalizer](https://printfilecheck.com/normalize-pdf-page-size): Create a new PDF with consistent Letter, A4, or custom page sizes. - [Resize PDF to Letter](https://printfilecheck.com/resize-pdf-to-letter): Fit or fill pages onto US Letter without uploading the file. - [Resize PDF to A4](https://printfilecheck.com/resize-pdf-to-a4): Fit or fill pages onto A4 without uploading the file. - [Check PDF bleed](https://printfilecheck.com/check-pdf-bleed): See whether TrimBox and BleedBox are defined—and what that does not prove. - [Check PDF fonts](https://printfilecheck.com/check-pdf-fonts): Inspect embedded fonts when the file structure makes that possible. ## Paper sizes - [A4 paper size](https://printfilecheck.com/paper-size/a4): 8.27 × 11.69 in; 2480 × 3508 px at 300 PPI. - [Letter paper size](https://printfilecheck.com/paper-size/letter): 8.50 × 11.00 in; 2550 × 3300 px at 300 PPI. - [Legal paper size](https://printfilecheck.com/paper-size/legal): 8.50 × 14.00 in; 2550 × 4200 px at 300 PPI. ## Print sizes in pixels - [4 × 6 print size](https://printfilecheck.com/print-size/4x6): The most common snapshot size in North America. - [5 × 7 print size](https://printfilecheck.com/print-size/5x7): A small framed print and greeting-card size. - [8 × 10 print size](https://printfilecheck.com/print-size/8x10): A standard framed photo that needs more pixels than a 4 × 6. - [11 × 14 print size](https://printfilecheck.com/print-size/11x14): A medium wall print.
